	AutoOnInfo.net  March 2008 GM's CEO Gets Pay Raise to $2.2 Million, But Doesn't Such a Talented Fellow Deserve $22 Million? Or $220 Million? By James B. Bleeker General Motors Corporation restored the salary of its Chief Executive Officer to its pre-2006 level of $2.2 million. David Cole, Chairman for the Center for Automotive Research in Ann Arbor, Michigan, is quoted by Detroit News as saying, "This says they're getting back to business as usual." However, GM is doing much better than usual at pursuing its traditional ways. Consider the following chart.     Here we see that not only have GM products captured a record share of the Worst of the Worst, but its record share is rather considerably greater than its multi-year trend line. Doesn't such an achievement at GM merit a CEO salary greater than a paltry $2.2 million? Wouldn't $22 million or $220 million more properly compensate such a talented fellow for such singular success?
