Distinctions: + The 2007 Toyota Sienna is a Consumer Reports 2007 Top Pick and All-Around-Ability Minivan Quick Pick with predicted short-term reliability in CR's second-highest category and predicted short-term ownership satisfaction in CR's second-highest category. The 2007 XLE has a CR accident-avoidance rating in the second-highest category and a CR crash-protection rating in the highest category. The 2006 Toyota Sienna was a 2006 Consumer Reports quieter, more comfortable alternative to its Top Pick, the Honda Odyssey (more agile), and was a CR 2006 Minivan Quick Pick. Also, the 2006 Sienna had a CR 2006 predicted short-term reliability in the second highest category, one notch up from Honda Odyssey's 2006 predicted short-term reliability of average, something of a disaster for a Honda-engineered product, and a CR 2006 predicted owner satisfaction in the highest category and had "Good" scores for front and side impact by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (but a score of "Poor" for rear impact), sufficient to place it third (immediately after the Odyssey) in the institute's safety ranking of minivans. The 2005 Toyota Sienna was a 2005 Consumer Reports owner satisfaction Quick Pick and a 2005 Insurance Institute for Highway Safety Best Pick Frontal. Cautionary Remarks: + Relative to other Toyota products, the North-American-made Toyota Sienna has been notably unreliable; however, relative to Big Three-engineered products, the Toyota Sienna is notably reliable. (See Table I-MINCRP.) More precisely, the Sienna's 1998-2002 Reliability Percentrank average is .81, in contrast with Toyota's overall 1998-2002 Reliability Percentrank average of .90.
