For Vehicles 3-to-5 Years Old, Toyota Garners 9 of Top 14, Honda - 5 of Top 14, and General Motors - 19 of Bottom 44
Models by Toyota Motor Corporation account for nine of the fourteen highest Reliability Percentranks for vehicles between the ages of three years and five years. Honda Motor Company models account for the remaining five of the top fourteen.
The Reliability Percentranks are based on information appearing within Consumer Reports 2005 and 2004 reliability tables that pertains to model year 2000.
The following table lists the top fourteen models, together with their respective Reliability Percentranks.
The Best of 2000: Models with a Reliability Percentrank of .93 or More at Vehicular Age of 3-to-5 Years Model Reliability Percentrank Honda CR-V sport utility vehicle 1.00 Toyota Camry sedan .99 Toyota Echo .99 Toyota RAV4 sport utility vehicle .99 Toyota's Lexus GS300/GS400 sedan .98 Toyota's Lexus LS400 sedan .97 Toyota's Lexus ES300 sedan .95 Toyota's Lexus RX300 SUV .95 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck .95 Honda Civic .95 Toyota Avalon sedan .94 Honda's Acura Integra sedan .94 Honda's Acura RL sedan .94 Honda's Acura TL sedan .94 The Lexus LS400 sedan, the Toyota Tacoma pickup truck, and the Honda CR-V sport utility vehicle are also among the Best of 1997, the Best of 1998, and the Best of 1999. Distribution of the 44 Lowest Reliability Percentranks for Model Year 2000, by Manufacturer Manufacturer Percentage General Motors Corporation 46% Chrysler Group of DaimlerChrysler AG 10% Volkswagen AG 13% Ford Motor Company 15% Volvo Division of Ford Motor Company 3% Mercedes-Benz Division of DaimlerChrysler AG 9% Jaguar 3% Land Rover 1% GM's current percentage of the Worst of 2000 increased some from last year's percentage of 42% for vehicles aged 2-to-4 years, but Chrysler's decreased some from 13.5 % to 10%. For the 2005 updates of the Worst of 1997, the Worst of 1998, the Worst of 1999, and the Worst of 2000, General Motors' percentage of the worst has increased in 3 of the 4 model years and Chrysler's percentage has declined in 3 of the 4 model years.
