reliability charts of the April 2005 issue of Consumer Reports,

Highlights
Some interesting highlights of automobile brand and manufacturer quality
in 2005 are:
1. Honda Motor Company's Acura and Honda, Toyota Motor
Corporation's Toyota and Lexus, Nissan Motor Company's Infiniti, and
Fuji Heavy Industries' Subaru brands
placed in the Top 7 by both of the quality rankings employed in this
section.
2. Brands of General Motors Corporation and the Chrysler
Group accounted for half of the Bottom 10 brands by both quality rankings.
3. All three of the North American brands of
Ford Motor Company placed in the top half by both quality
measures.
4. The Mercedes-Benz brand, once the icon of
engineering excellence and among the Top 10 in 1995, placed in
the Bottom 10 in 2005.
4. Toyota Motor Corporation and Fuji Heavy Industries
were the two manufacturers to
place in the Top
3 by both quality rankings.
5. The three automobile manufacturers that were common
to the Bottom 3 by both quality measures are Volkswagen, Jaguar, and
Daimler.
